Summary

Scientific conferences typically receive a large volume of abstract submissions, often exceeding the number that can be accommodated for presentation. For this reason, submitted abstracts must undergo a peer-review process. Reviewers are responsible for ensuring that each abstract adheres to the proper structure, complies with the conference guidelines, possesses acceptable scientific merit, and demonstrates appropriate methodological quality. The aim of this manuscript was to present a valid and reliable scale for the assessment of congress or meeting abstracts, with the goal of standardizing its use. A detailed description of the scale and a guide for its implementation are provided, which will help ensure adequate reliability in the assessment process.

KEY WORDS: Conferences; Oral presentations; Conference papers; Methodology; Evidence-based medicine.
