This study aims to describe comprehensively, for the first time, the macro-anatomical structure of the skeletal system of Acomys nesiotes, an endemic rodent species of Cyprus Island. A total of 105 specimens obtained from both wild-collected and laboratory-born individuals were examined. The bones of the skull, limbs, vertebral column, and other skeletal elements were analysed morphometrically, drawn, and photographed. The findings indicate that the skeletal structure of A. nesiotes is closely associated with locomotor adaptations, taxonomic distinctiveness, and ecological specialization. Notably, features observed in the scapula, humerus, femur, and cranial morphology suggest adaptations for agile locomotion such as climbing and quick movement. Furthermore, distinctive cranial and mandibular structures offer valuable clues for species identification and feeding behavior. The results provide a significant reference not only for systematic biology but also for paleontological and functional morphological studies.
